What is Podcasting?
The term podcasting comes from the name iPod™ and broadcast. An iPod is a device/player that is produced by Apple Incorporated that allows users to download files in .mp3 or AAC (Apple iTunes™ format). The term no longer refers specifically to the iPod but to any software or hardware combination that will allow downloading and playing files. Subscribing to podcasts allows you to receive new files automatically. To subscribe to a podcast you must have the appropriate software or podcasting client. The most popular podcasting client is Apple's iTunes player.
